Wylene Lawson Bridgeman Leadership and Service Scholarship

This scholarship is named for Wylene Lawson Bridgeman in recognition of her service and leadership. Mrs. Bridgeman has served over 25 years in education teaching elementary, high school and college level courses. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Langston University and Master of Arts Degree in Education from Arizona State University and continued with her education receiving a Christian Counseling Diploma and Volunteer Chaplaincy Certificate.
 
Mrs. Bridgeman has dedicated her life to serving communities and remains committed to excellence in leadership and service. She currently serves as President of the Valley del Sol Parliamentarian Unit, Member of the National Association of Parliamentarians, Board of Directors for Arizona State Association of Parliamentarians, Editor of The Arizona Parliamentarian Newsletter, and Parliamentarian for the Sisters of the Valley Social Club. In addition, Mrs. Bridgeman is a licensed minister and Founder/Leader of Spiritual Cleansing Educational Ministries, Inc. and Founder and leader of the Sisters of Faith Bible Study Group and member of the Member of First Institutional Baptist Church.
 
As the inaugural President of The Desert Pearls Foundation and a 69-year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., she has also served as the Chartering President of the Alpha Alpha Iota Omega Chapter in Phoenix, Arizona. In recognition of her leadership and service to all mankind, this scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to excellence in leadership and service.
